Duties: The Resource Technologist B will provide high quality processing and flow cytometry services of clinical trial samples to the Abramson Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource Laboratory, primarily for projects with the Parker Center for Cancer Immunotherapy. A knowledge of and experience with high-dimensional flow cytometry using Becton-Dickinson cytometers is a requirement for this position, as well as knowledge of FlowJo analytical cytometry. Additional duties include detailed manual and electronic record-keeping, sample inventory management, performing cellular immunology assays, participating in equipment or reagent validation, and developing or updating standard operating procedures. This position involves working closely with the Research Project Manager to carry out highly-regulated clinical assays, and to implement and adhere to rigorous standard operating procedures to achieve uniformity and reproducibility. Interaction with study organizers at outside institutions will be common so exceptional interactive skills are highly desired.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related subject, plus at least 3 years of work in a laboratory setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience with blood and tissue processing, cryopreservation, and high-level proficiency with flow cytometers is required; prior work in a GLP setting is preferred.
