Job Summary As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at WellStar, you'll provide critical respiratory care and education under the guidance of the RC Manager/Director. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Delivering comprehensive patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care settings.
  • Educating patients and their families while mentoring new staff and students.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to plan and implement effective care strategies.

Core Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Ensure thorough patient assessments, documentation, and education while promoting a positive team environment.
  • Quality Patient Care: Administer therapies, manage ventilators, perform assessments, and provide specialized care, including assisting in invasive procedures.
  • Safety: Maintain high patient safety standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences
  • Bachelor's degree Required.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required
  • Additional certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS) preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of current RT experience.

Skills
  • Strong communication and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in computer use and familiar with healthcare databases.
