Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Safety Coordinator in Austin, TX. This position is a full-time role that will be embedded with our client, 5 days per week. This assignment is anticipated to last 6 months and could be extended.
As a Safety Coordinator you will be working along with our client's existing team of environment, health and safety professionals. Your role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing workplace safety programs while ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work environment, mitigate risks, and prevent workplace accidents or injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Performing routine safety inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Planning and facilitating safety training sessions, including emergency response drills, to educate employees on safe practices.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, conducting root cause analyses to implement effective preventive measures.
- Maintaining accurate and organized safety documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Partnering with management and department leaders to create, review, and enhance safety protocols and procedures.
- Conducting thorough safety audits and risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Staying informed about changes in safety regulations and industry best practices to continuously enhance workplace safety programs.
- Setting clear safety expectations for new employees during orientation, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field or 1- 3 years' experience in related fields.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Must understand OSHA regulations in addition to state-specific regulations and their applicability. Further understanding of additional regulations is a plus (NFPA, DOT / IATA, ANSI).
- Exemplary organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first-aid techniques
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety sensitive roles).

Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
- Frequently required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
- Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change)
Additionally, if you are assigned work in the field at client project sites you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
- Medium to heavy work
- Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
- Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at the knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward), and climbing
- Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate, and possibly heavy-weight objects
- Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts, or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling
- May be required to wear an air-purifying respirator
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The hourly range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
