Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) has a Senior Business Analytics Analyst opportunity availablewithin our UAW Trust Consulting & Reporting area, which is part of the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE).

About the Role

Responsible for data management and analysis ensuring quality deliverables meeting business expectations. Under minimal supervision, manages all aspects of data delivery and issue resolution. Coordinates efforts across customer, vendors, business, and operational areas. Identifies opportunities for process improvement to minimize risk. Supports account specific analysis and reporting.

Please Note: Hybrid work structure, which requires working 2-days per week on-site (typically, Tuesday and Wednesday) at our downtown Detroit office (we provide free parking).

In this Senior Business Analytics Analyst opportunity, you will:

  • Synthesize business needs to identify development and analytic needs.
  • Participate in working sessions with cross functional teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and provide clear expectations for success.
  • Identify testing cases and complete user acceptance testing.
  • Provide status to leadership on key projects and issues.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are tracked and met.
  • Facilitate customer and vendor meetings identifying agendas, tracking projects, and communicating status.
  • Complete investigations on data quality concerns impacting external deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in Informatics, Data Science, or other related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience required
  • Healthcare industry work experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading projects that include coordinating cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience programming with structured query languages is required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Knowledge of health care claim processing and how health care systems function
  • Ability to effectively interface with management at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to report in-person at company facilities as required by leadership
  • Positive attitude, adaptable to change
