The Senior Computer Support Specialistreports to the Computer Services Coordinator. This position deploys andmaintains all client workstation hardware, installs and troubleshoots allrequired software, and provides technical support to faculty, staff andstudents at the Sugar Grove campus. This position is responsible formaintaining detailed inventory data for all client workstation hardware on themain campus.
Responsibilities
Supervisehardware, software and physical environment of client workstations.
Provideprofessional development and training of personnel in the effective use ofnewly deployed computer equipment.
Prioritizeand resolve Technical Assistance Center tickets in a timely manner.
Installand configure PC and MAC software, hardware and related peripherals.
Maintain computer hardware to thecomponent and chip level.
Work with external technicalsupport providers to repair or replace faulty hardware under warranty.
Provide consulting to the InformationTechnology staff.
Collaborate with the InformationSecurity division to ensure optimal client workstation security.
Explore, research and review state-of-the-artconcepts in the wider computer sciences community and recommend clientworkstation hardware and software.
Author knowledge base articles andother documentation for software installation steps, common troubleshootingsolutions and workarounds
Maintain accurate inventoryinformation for all computer hardware across the main campus.
Coordinate and manage assignedsemester prep projects by arranging project meetings and developing timelinesfor implementation.
Provide Technical Assistance Centercall queue coverage as required.
Configure and deploy remotelaptops, hotspots, and other peripherals to faculty, staff and students forremote work and learning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree required,preferably in a technical field.
Twoyears' experience in the maintenance, installation and configuration ofcomputer hardware and software required.
Knowledge of computer networks,various computer hardware and software needed.
One year's experience in-personcustomer service.
Good verbal and written communicationsskills. Good interpersonal andinter-organizational skills. Ability tointeract with all levels of management, faculty, staff and students.
Ability to work with minimalsupervision and take initiative.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
