We're seeking an Infectious Disease Specialist to fulfill two pivotal roles: Site Medical Director for Infection Control and an Infectious Diseases Physician. Here's what you can look forward to:
1. Site Medical Director for Infection Control (Approx. 20 hours/week)
As the Site Medical Director for Infection Control, you'll be a crucial member of our Infection Control team. Reporting directly to the MGB Chief of Infection Control, you'll play a key role in:
- Overseeing day-to-day infection control operations
- Supporting the implementation of system-wide infection prevention and control strategies
- Leading the Infection Prevention Committee as Co-chair
- Developing and executing an annual Infection Control Plan
- Providing expert IP leadership for the Medical Staff
You'll thrive in our integrated healthcare system, maintaining strong organizational relationships and effective communication with MGB leadership.
2. Infectious Diseases Physician
In your role as an Infectious Diseases Physician, you'll join a dedicated team treating a wide array of conditions including HIV, tick-borne diseases, cancer-related complications, and more. Our practice, though community-based, offers cutting-edge therapies like fecal microbial transplantation and robust HIV care supported by local organizations.
- Collaborate with our team of two ID physicians and a nurse practitioner
- Participate in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee
- Provide compassionate, expert care and share on-call responsibilities, with one weekend per month

Qualifications
Undergraduate (required); medical degree (required); background in healthcare (required); active
medical license (required); Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases
(required); minimum of 3 years relevant infection control experience (preferred)*, relevant
professional society membership (e.g., SHEA, IDSA, APIC; required)
• Experience and demonstrated knowledge in:
o Principles and practice of infection prevention and control
o Literature as it relates to infection prevention and control
o Evidenced-based infection prevention and control strategies
o Infection prevention and control implementation
o Surveillance for healthcare associated infections
o Requirements for maintaining accreditation, standards, and regulatory compliance
o Prevention of infections and management of exposures in healthcare personnel
• Must be available to work in case of a facility-declared emergency.
• Must be available to assist during regulatory agency reviews.
• *Note that a physician board certified in infectious diseases but without the aforementioned
experience may potentially still be considered for the role, provided they have demonstrated a
commitment to a career in infection control and have met other attributes as listed
