Job Summary:
The Graduate Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the processing of graduate applications, verification of students' academic history, program entry dates, and ensuring accurate recording of student information in the Banner System. This position is also responsible for evaluating international transcripts, admissions decisions for programs waiving review for unconditional admissions; preparation, processing and distribution of decision letters and ongoing communications with academic programs; end-of-the-semester reporting and processing of conditionally admitted students; and evaluation of unencumbered licensure for nursing applicants. These responsibilities require independent decision-making and supervisor skills. This position serves as the initial point of contact for staff, faculty, students, and other constituencies; responds to routine inquiries; and disseminates information about the services offered by the Graduate School. The Graduate Enrollment Specialist attends graduate student recruiting fairs, tabling opportunities, and other recruiting/public relations events as needed, representing JSU Graduate Studies. The individual selected for this position will assist with developing social media campaigns and/or communication plans for the Graduate School.
