Job Summary
Nordson MCS seeks a Specialist II Purchasing to join our dynamic team in Dayton, OH. This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strategic mindset to contribute to our manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on factors such as cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to foster collaboration, improve performance, and ensure continuous supply.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts, including pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier disruptions, quality issues, and price fluctuations.
- Purchasing Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators, identify trends, and inform purchasing decisions.
- Support inventory management activities by monitoring stock levels and placing replenishment orders as needed.
- Source and procure materials, components, and equipment in accordance with company requirements and purchasing policies.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of purchasing principles, practices, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts and practices.
- Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
