Position Overview:
This role supports manufacturing operations and manufactured products by supervising engineering technicians and test technicians, making technical recommendations on product disposition; organizing and monitoring workflow, collecting and analyzing data, performing product acceptance and delivering Customer data packs. The role also requires adherence to the Subcom Quality Management System and relevant ISO requirements. Position reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, regulations, and are committed to creating a safe working environment.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve workplace issues.
- Build relationships across all departments including HR.
- Champion the SubCom QMS and coach all levels in its use.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the product, how it works, and the measurements required to ensure world class quality.
- Technical ability to know, understand and communicate the various processes of their department.
- Ability to identify production bottlenecks or constraints and work with others to improve product flow.
- Look for and provide feedback on efficiencies, continuous improvement, cost improvements, and innovation.
- Ensure cross training and job rotation of personnel; effectively and efficiently resource plan and schedule to meet commitments.
- Ensure that employees are trained in the procedures, material and equipment prior to commencing work.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide areas of development and recognize achievements
- Manage a team of test technicians who are responsible for, but not limited to; high-voltage power safety as it pertains to unit testing.
- Is the primary interface between Newington Mfg. Operations and Design on testing related items
- Participating in Customer meetings in support of testing activities

QualificationsQualifications: - Associate's degree in a business or science related field
- 3 years' minimum experience in a Quality environment, previous experience in a supervisory or lead position preferred.
- Experience in the workings of a QMS.
