We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description Summary:
As a PayPal Security Tools Engineer, you will be a part of PayPal's Cybersecurity Production Operations organization tasked with ensuring that we enable our employees to reach our company goals securely.

Our mission is to deliver our security tools and their operational services to PayPal employees, with a focus on positive customer experience, education, and support while following industry best practices.

You will help deliver the new tools and platforms built by our engineering teams, as well as administration and operational oversight.

Your day to day:
As a key member of this growing team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive system administration support while contributing to the seamless operation and security of our internal platforms. You will be involved in the deployment and maintenance of cutting-edge security products developed by our engineering teams, ensuring that they meet the needs of our internal customers.

Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging security technologies, platforms, and best practices, integrating them into the operational landscape to improve security posture and operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in a collaborative, agile environment, liaising with colleagues and other teams globally to achieve common objectives and support the ongoing success of the organization.

Customer and User Engagement: Serve as an advocate for customer engagement, ensuring that internal users' needs are understood and met. Focus on enhancing the user experience and ensuring a seamless integration of security solutions.

Champion for Security: Act as a security advocate, promoting security best practices and ensuring that security is ingrained in all aspects of development and system operations.

Project and Operations Management: Engage in both project-based work, focusing on the implementation of new systems and technologies, and operational responsibilities, ensuring the continuous smooth running of business-critical systems.

What do you need to bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security and Systems Administration
  • Systems administration includes monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system functionality and reliability. This includes critical system security patching.
  • Exposure with certificate management/keys management (KeyMaker, KeyFactor and Crypto), proxy (Zscaler), Identity Access Management (SailPoint or MyAccess), CITRIX, and SSO.
  • Basic understanding working in AWS or GCP cloud environments
  • Clearly demonstrate understanding of information security concepts, standards, and practices. This includes firewalls, intrusion prevention, and detection, TCP/IP, and related protocols, device monitoring, and log management
  • Basic coding experience in Python and Perl would be beneficial
  • Effective change-management mindset, focusing on user experience and quality assurance
  • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow Incident Management and rational problem-solving skills
  • Rotational on call duties to ensure system availability and uptime
