Job Summary:
Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates the Trauma Program in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director and Director of Critical and Emergency Services. Coordinates quality improvement initiatives, Joint Commission reporting, and State Trauma Registry reporting. Participates in special projects that support excellence in patient care. Provides for operational support in the development, management, coordination and implementation of Trauma and injury prevention program initiatives.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department Nursing/Critical Care experience is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master's degree is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Attends 16 hours or more of trauma education annually.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is required within 12 months of hire. Advanced trauma Life support (ATLS) is preferred within one year of hire. CCRN or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
