Job Summary/Basic Function:
Access and security control of Campus doors, utilizing electronic locks, mechanical locks, and ADA operators. Team members are responsible for quick response for repair, installation, and retrofitting old door hardware throughout Campus to maintain safe, secure buildings.

Facilities Operations and Maintenance supports the university's strategic mission by professionally maintaining safe, functional and attractive facilities and grounds, while also providing quality support services to the campus community.
Level Scope:
Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:

  • Retrofit VonDuprin, Schlage, LCN, and other manufacturers over existing hardware mountings.
  • Install electrified door hardware.
  • Programming door controllers and site controllers for card access systems. Work is coordinated with Public Safety.
  • Install/retrofit/repair regular and electrified door hardware
  • Pull wire
  • Install conduit
  • Install card access hardware
  • Install low voltage power supplies
  • Work with vendors to replace storefronts on Campus
  • Maintain all systems listed above
  • Read and interpret plans and hardware specifications
  • On-call responsibilities for after-hours access emergency needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Good knowledge of: office management practices; bookkeeping. Some knowledge of management practices. Experience: interpreting and applying regulations and policies; using computerized system control techniques including access, security and accounting/banking; monitoring a budget.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Low voltage electrical certification (required for Boise State Facilities)
  • Experience installing various types of door hardware
  • Experience with electronic locks - installation, programming, and retrofitting
  • Knowledge of ADA operators, in conjunction with operators and card access systems
  • Ability to use work order system (CMMS) for tracking materials and pricing
Salary and Benefits:
$55,702.40 - salary negotiable ($26.75 hourly).
