Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000
Title: V.P. New Business Development
Job Purpose
American Golf Corporation (AGC) is seeking a Vice President to drive and support the efforts of our business development team, which we expect to include responsibilities such as: leading an aggressive outbound lead generation strategy to acquire new AGC golf facility management agreements and leases, supporting all efforts to renew existing AGC agreements, all with a special emphasis on cultivating existing landlord and potential landlord relationships. This is a national position with a primary focus on the coastal markets of the East and West Coast and in particular the State of California, with an emphasis on acquiring contracts for municipally owned golf courses and driving range facilities. This position will report to American Golf's Head of Real Estate, SVP of AGC Strategy. The company's business development efforts are closely integrated with our operations team and a considerable amount of time will be spent working with operations to identify targets and supporting operations with landlord or manager related objectives.
This position will require a significant amount of travel to perform market studies, identify targets and meet with potential partners. This is an exciting opportunity to grow American Golf Corporation and to capitalize on the unique benefits that our offering brings to potential landlords.
Responsibilities
- Driving an aggressive outbound lead generation strategy to secure new golf facility management agreements and leases.
- Supporting efforts to renew existing AGC agreements, with a strong focus on cultivating relationships with current and potential landlords.
- Targeting municipally owned golf courses and driving range facilities, with an emphasis on acquiring contracts in California and key coastal markets on the East and West Coast.
- Collaborating closely with the operations team to identify opportunities and assist in achieving landlord or manager-related objectives.
- Conducting market studies, identifying targets, and meeting with potential partners, requiring significant travel.
Qualifications Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of business development experience, with 3 or more years of prior experience in golf, hospitality or entertainment business development experience preferred, including experience performing market studies, developing proformas and proposals and negotiating leases and management agreements
- Experience or familiarity contracting with municipalities (Cities, States, Counties, Towns or other Governmental Bodies) including responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Preparing responses to Request for Proposals (RFP's) is a critical responsibility of this position and experience and proficiency with these tasks is advantageous
- Experience in golf management, restaurant, entertainment or hospitality operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills required (including written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
- Conscientious self-starter capable of handling multiple duties with a high degree of accountability
- Positive attitude exhibiting a professional manner and willingness to work in team atmosphere
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently to complete responsibilities of the role
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field required
- Master's Degree is a plus but not required.
